FIRST POST - Introduction

Well  what to say about the team...

I suppose I should start with the team name.
so why did we decide on "Hat Guys Hitchhiker's" Well basically at the time our team leader had a hat and also at kickstart hats were mentioned quite a lot, so we thought we'd put that in the name some how so thats the "Hat Guy" bit. How about the "hitchhikers" bit. Well that came as a result of the robot name (which i will come onto in a minute) being to do with Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, so we just took the hitchhiker's bit from the title and put it on the end. To create "Hat Guys Hitchhiker's" its as simple as that.

Now the robot name. As I said it comes from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. So what in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy relates to robotics...Well Marvin of course. So yes our robot is called "Marvin the Paraoid Android" or just Marvin, cause its shorter

Onto the robot its self. Firstly unlike the other PSC team, Team Narnia, or as they should probably be dubbed "the sensible team" we haven't built a prototype in fact the thought never crossed our minds. We just drew an idea out on some paper and then went "ok lets build it" it sounds like there was no planning or analyse but there was, it was all talking, ending in "lets just build it and see if it works"
NOW I KNOW THATS PROBABLY NOT A GOOD THING BUT HAY, we can can fiddle with it until it works.
So whats the basis of the robot. Well its a huge cable tie flail of course (which does take up most of the allowed space) which will be mounted in a large box on wheels. Thats basically our robot, as it stands at the moment. IT COULD ALL CHANGE
As i said we haven't built a prototype so due to this and the fact the robot at the moment is just a few pieces of metal bolted together i didnt think there'd be much point of putting pictures of it up (also we havent got any) So at the moment there are no pictures, other than the team logo ideas (which i will mention in a minute) I will get pictures uploaded as soon as there are pictures to upload.

Finally, as I just mentioned, there are 8 team logo designs in the gallery. So have a look at them and then vote for your favourite, in the poll on the right hand side. Its in two parts because I couldn't add more answers to the poll (the function to do so didn't work for some reason)
