Double dose- Part 2

Wednesday,this weeks meeting
So this week the second motor and wheel set were completly attached to the chasis. now we just need to smooth off all the sharp edges so no one cuts themselves on them and so the boxes/ tokens dont get cut up. The motors were then wired up, but not connected to our electronics board as it was being looked at (i believe something might be wrong with it)

So what did we do as we didnt have our electronics and wanted to test the motors? use team narnia's of course. There was however a small promblem with this...they'd already mounted there electronics board to there chasis. We didnt let this stop use though. So how did we get round it? umm...well basically we clamped there robot to the top of ours, took out there motor leads and connected our motors, then to try and make sure it didnt tip over we put 3 lead acid batteries on our chasis, 2 at the front 1 at the back. after all procautions were takin, everyone stand well away from the "double decker robot" as someone called it (but we stayed close enough so that we could catch it if it began to fall over)
What was the out come of this? to be honest not a lot, but the robot did still move. Even with the combined weight of the robots and the weight of the battery it still managed to move (not much but hay) were taking this as a good sign.

closer view, showing all the ballast and the webcam. note the webcam is point forwards, well forwards for marvin that is. the direction marvin went was not, he went backwards.even though the bit of programing was meant to make him go forwards, so basically the motors are wired backwards, so we'll need to remember that when it comes to programing it properly.
